A modern take on the hit Mexican horror/sci-fi anthology series La Hora Marcada , which originally aired in the 1980s and 1990s, is coming to ViX.
A handful of Oscar-winning film professionals actually got their start on the horror and sci-fi show, which originally aired in the 1980s and 1990s, including directors and writers Guillermo del Toro (The Shape of Water) and Alfonso Cuarón (Roma) and cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki (The Revenant).
Now, a new generation of Latin American horror writers and directors will deliver nine frightening stories that are sure to give viewers a few sleepless nights. For the reboot, several Latin American writers including Abia Castillo, Freddy Chávez, Josh Candia, Luis Reséndiz, Ramiro García Bogliano, and Tomás Downey, took scripts from the original series and updated them for a 21st-century audience.
The lineup of directors includes Andrés Beltran (Tarumama), Adrián García Bogliano (La exorcista), Andrés Rothschild, Gigi Saul Guerrero (V/H/S/85, Bingo Hell), Issac Ezban (Mal de ojo), Laura Casabé (The Returned), Lex Ortega (Animales humanos), Michelle Garza Cervera (Huesera) and Roque Falabella.
Inspired by the tense, taut, and twisted “two sentence horror stories” circulating around as Reddit urban legends, each half-hour episode of Two Sentence Horror Stories follows an original tale of suspense. The first title card audiences see is the first sentence in the concise “horror story,” and only when the episode is over do viewers learn the second sentence.
